What is Sikaflex-256 used for?
Sikaflex-256 is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive used to replace vehicle windshields and rear windows. Its Sika data sheet lists a minimum drive-away time of 6 hours for airbag-equipped cars (FMVSS 212) and recommends it for experienced users only. What is the difference between Sikaflex-252 and Sikaflex-256?
Sikaflex-252 is an elastic adhesive for bonding large components in vehicle assembly, while Sikaflex-256 is designed specifically for automotive glass replacement.
Which Sika primer is used on which surface?
Sika Primer 206 G+P is for glass and painted surfaces, Primer 210 for metal, Primer 215 for plastic and wood, and Primer-209 D for painted and plastic surfaces. The right pre-treatment depends on the surface and adhesive; check Sika's pre-treatment chart and the product data sheet.
