At an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 5 August 2026, AkzoNobel shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour of merging with Axalta Coating Systems. Axalta shareholders approved the same resolution at their own special general meeting.

Why this matters to us

Standox, Duxone and Nason — brands Aydın Ticaret distributes — sit under Axalta. AkzoNobel owns brands such as Sikkens and Lesonal. The merger therefore concerns the whole supply chain on the automotive refinish side.

What is known

  • The merger is an all-stock transaction.
  • The combined company will be led by AkzoNobel's current CEO, Greg Poux-Guillaume; AkzoNobel Supervisory Board Chair Ben Noteboom will serve as vice-chair.
  • Completion is expected at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.
  • The process is not over: regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions are still pending.

Poux-Guillaume described the vote as a significant milestone towards bringing together two highly complementary businesses.

Does anything change in supply?

Not at this stage. Supply and pricing for Standox, Duxone and Nason products continue as usual; current prices are in our price list. If anything develops that affects us, we will announce it here.
